How about this game? Did anyone miss out this one.Well you could have missed a good match but the half was shown by this awesome referee Martin Atkinson. For all reasons he was my man of the match.None of the other Pompey players were better than him(Wasn’t he a Portsmouth player).

Sheffield United or Middlesbrough v Cardiff City

Manchester United v Portsmouth

Bristol Rovers v West Brom

Barnsley v Chelsea

United have drawn against Portsmouth again. Its all co-incidence but we keep drawing against Portsmouth. However, considering with other teams we usually draw against A premier team. The last 16 match we had to face Arsenal comparing to what Liverpool and Chelsea managed to get.Though Liverpool didn’t make any rewards out of their game and got themselves out.I am expecting to see Middlesbrough win against Sheffield United.

Apart for this, after giving an inspirational play against Arsenal,Wayne Rooney has been nominated for FA cup awards including Cardiff striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Portsmouth keeper David James, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and Barnsley keeper Luke Steele.

We are surely winning this one and registering our place in Semi’s.Lets hope Chelsea fails to deliver what every ones expecting.Matches are going to be played 8th and 9 th of the march.

The draws for the FA are finally out and guess who are we meeting. The Gunners are going to visit us at Trafford for the fifth round of the FA finals in mid FEB.Well they have been for quite a time United’s worthy opponent and have made almost every encounter into a classic match.

The last time that we faced them in FA finals was back in 2005 at Trafford.Well the results were dissapointing from United’s side  but the match worth watching. These are  matches which dont set off till they completely finish those given 120 minutes plus the 5 penalties. Its like a never ending conflict.Believe me watching such matches at stadium is worth every penny. Manchester United v/s Tottenham

A long rest we are now set for the FA cup.UNited are going to face Tottenham at Trafford for which we are likely going expect a win.Tottenham in their last game against Arsenal defeated well by a huge margins so that wont make things for Granted at home.On the other side,United legend(in making) Paul Scholes is going to comeback after three months in this one.Atleast we are going to see him substitutes if not in playing.Midfield was a bit messed up in the Reading game and its time for Scholey to set things up.

United now are going to have another mid-field player which makes even more competitive in middle .We are going to see soon one those players leaving the club(expect for Carrick,Anderson,Hargreaves,Scholes,Ronaldo and Giggs),and Fletcher looks more obvious one compared to others.Well in past he has shown his interest in leaving the club for many times and this time he also may move. It has been a long time that i am back at Manchester united blog.I just suffered from a bad Influenza fever and rest was the only thing that i had to do.It wasnt that bad that i was going to miss this game.

The game’s excitement over shadowed my illness and i almost forget that i was ill.For some reasons i have loved FA cup and this time too its same excitement. Its again Villa’s fatal luck that they fall in hands of United. This was the fourth time in the past seven seasons that Villa have been paired with United at the third round stage and losing each time thoughtfully. Continue reading »

Manchester United will play against Villa for third round of FA cup as they were paired in ties after Sunday’s Draw.United faces similiar situation as last year though not serene this time.Aston Villa have improved their grounds and standards on every basis and were narrowly defeated in their last game against Arsenal.Standing 7th in league and 3 points behind United its not the same situation as United, who won last year against Villa playing at OT will not have same situation.Villa having home game advantage and no-UFEA match stress will try to gain maximum out of this one keeping in mind with that last year’s 2-1 defeat Continue reading »

The elements are there and with their accomplishment detailed right before them, everything seems to be in place for the current stars of the United Reds team towards impending superstardom. However, it takes more than just one championship to categorize them in the legendary status that they are aiming for. Winning tradition is the key and for Dutch Stopper Edwin van der Sar, this is achievable.

Edwin van der Sar

“You do not become a legend overnight – you have to win things over a long period,” insists van der Sar. “The players have shown their ability this season. Every game has been important for us and we’ve shown we have been up for every one.

“Every player selected for Saturday or Tuesday or Wednesday has had to perform and we have not had to carry any one.

Chelsea were so well ahead in the previous seasons. But this season, we have been playing well enough to cope with anything that has been put in our way.

“The squad is well positioned to achieve something special,” adds the 36-year-old. “It takes a long time to work towards something like this but now the team must go on.

“It is not just about winning something once but two or three times and that is the challenge.” – Starlets can become legends

Hence to sum it all up, it is for the current roster of the United Reds to gain or lose. Everything is under their hands.

The United Reds are again on top after winning the Premiership trophy and no other than Sir Alex Ferguson was at the head of the pack, thanking everyone from the fans to the players for another memorable season. After going through tumultuous ups and downs that included injuries and issues surrounding the ability of the team to win, all were laid to rest as the Reds hoisted the Premiership trophy at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson

“It’s been a fantastic season for our club, for every one of us,” he said, addressing the United fans. “The supporters, the staff, these lads (the players), I can’t speak highly enough of them. It’s been a wonderful year and we thank you for your support. We hope now that we can add to it next season.”

“I’m already looking forward to next season,” he added. “Let’s get on with it. I’m looking forward to this young team developing, maturing and going onto to win a European trophy as well as pushing for the league.” – Boss hails wonderful year

The combined efforts displayed by the severely depleted United Reds line-up justify the adage that a team game can be won without key players if they stick together. Such was the result of the Reds in their 4-1 victory over Waftord that pushed them to a seat in the FA Cup finals.

United Reds FA Cup 2007

No other that Sir Alex Fergusson was there to commend the joint efforts of the ailing squad. Fergusson couldnt ask for anything more thanks to the efforts of players Wes Brown, Gaby Heinze, Alan Smith and the outstanding plays of Wayne Rooney and hotshot Cristiano Ronaldo.

Displaying the courage and the fire of true warriors, the Reds bucked the odds of its ever growing list of injured players. It was a matter of heart and pride and this is sure to be a good momentum and motivation for the team going into the finals. Not to be forgotten as well is the overwhelming support of the United Reds fans that have been behind the back of the team despite the trying times that the team has had to weather in past weeks.

If there is one thing that has been bothering Sir Alex Fergusson these days, it is that of injury to key players at a stage where a complete roster is essential. The Reds are now at the semi-finals of the FA cup but with the plague of injuries to key players such as Louis Saha and John OShea who are down with separate injuries.

Louis Saha

Saha is recuperating from a hamstring strain injury and may be a doubtful starter on their Tuesday game against Sheffield United at Old Trafford. OShea on the other hand suffered a calf injury in their last game against Roma.

John O' Shea United Reds

“John didn’t train on Friday,” confirmed Sir Alex Ferguson at his pre-match press conference. “But hopefully he will be OK for Saturday. Patrice Evra came in at right-back on Tuesday and did very well.

If it is any consolation, Paul Shoes will be back from serving a suspension and will be able to play. But Fergusson is weary that at this stage of the tournament, adjustments to the winning ways of the Reds may prove to be costly for where they have accomplished by this time.

“My other decision is that Paul Scholes is back from suspension. Changing a winning team is very difficult after the way they performed against Roma. But Paul’s experience could be important in a semi-final.”

Another doubtful player is that of Gary Neville who will still be out for another week. While he was reportedly going to be ready by the time they face Sheffield, Fergusson doubts the healing time and would rather not risk aggravating injuries of his players careers. Call it a spade of bad luck!
