<p>While the Red Devils secured a finals slot in the Carling Cup last Wednesday against Manchester City, back at the PRemier League, Chelsea was able to wrest the top position from the Reds and with still another match slated. This means that Manchester United sees the Arsenal clash as a must-win at this point. Especially since Sir Alex sees Arsenal as a big obstacle in getting a record fourth consecutive title.</p>
<p>A win is important since with two matches, Chelsea could potentially get four points ahead of the Red Devils, and Sir Alex doesn&#8217;t want to play catch up with a relatively big margin. And with Arsenal potentially in the running as well, they will do all they can to thwart ManU &#8212; the ingredients of an epic battle.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Rooney-150x150.jpg" alt="BRITAIN SOCCER" title="BRITAIN SOCCER" width="150" height="150" class="alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-1334" />If there&#8217;s still any doubt that Wayne Rooney can ably fill the big shoes left by Cristiano Ronaldo, it was erased with the stunning 4 &#8211; 0 routing of <a href="http://www.manutd.com/">Manchester United</a> against Hull. Rooney scored all four goals against Hull and this has resulted in the Red Devils speeding up the ranking tables and becoming the top team in the Premiership League. </p>
<p>Rooney scored the first goal a mere seven minutes into the game, with a hit on a rebound after Paul Scholes&#8217; long range shot was saved. He would then explode with three goals that he would fire off within the span of less than ten minutes late in the game. The three goals, which came in at the 83rd, 86th and 90th minutes were astonishing and brought the Manchester United faithful to its feet. Rooney&#8217;s four goals in the game, his first ever, brings his season total to 20 goals. Rooney&#8217;s consistency has brought the Red Devils two points clear at the top of the Premiership League table. </p>
<p>Hopefully, Rooney&#8217;s amazing performance this season and the Red Devils enjoying the top spot will be enough to ease the tension in Old Trafford because of the debts the team is suffering from &#8212; to the tune of 700 million pounds at present. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/community-shield-219x157.jpg" alt="community-shield" title="community-shield" width="219" height="157" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1247" />Tomorrow it is that far again and the new season kicks off with the Community Shield for both Manchester United and Chelsea FC.</p>
<p>After a successful pre-season now the fun is over and a new long and hopefully glamorous seasons awaits the Red Devils, with the kick off at 15.00 at Wembley in London.<br />For the <A href="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/news/community-shield-2007-manus-chelsea-better-get-used-to-lose/">second time in 3 Community Shields only we face Chelsea</a> at the start of the season. I would gladly sign to start the Season in the same manner and there is something special about taking <a href="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/live-reports/united-the-champions-league-winners-manchester-united-71-16chelsea/">spot kicks against the Londoner Rent Boys</a>. <span id="more-1246"></span></p>
<p>tomorrow the situation will be different than 2 years ago tho. Not only has CR7 left and this will be the first game without the Portuguese winger, but we also face injury problems at the back.</p>
<p><a href="http://manchesterunited-blog.com/tag/Vidic">Vidic</a> is injured and wil be out for the next two weeks at least, <a href="<a href="http://manchesterunited-blog.com/tag/van-de-sar">EVDS</a> is out for the next 8 weeks at least with a finger injury and both Brown and Neville face new spells on the sideline again.<br />
SAF admitted not to have decided yet whether to play <a href="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/squad/foster-signed-extension-for-4-more-years-does-this-mean-kuszczak-will-look-somewhere-else-now/">Foster or Kuszczak</a> in goal, but I dare say that the final choice might be in the advantage of the English talent and possible future England #1.</p>
<p>Up front both <a href="http://manchesterunited-blog.com/tag/rooney">Rooney</a> and <a href="http://manchesterunited-blog.com/tag/owen">Owen</a> have enjoyed a positive pre-season and <a href="http://manchesterunited-blog.com/tag/valencia">Valencia</a> has proven himself a worthy successor of CR7. Not as successful on target but a great provider of assists.</p>
<p>You can watch the game live at Free-football.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So what we got today.Hammers are up and we are facing with full strength. There has been few stories running short around United but that keeps us unaffected. The tales of David Beckham are spinning back and lots of new stories are showing positive sides of Ferguson being interested with him.Though for now he stays out of our team and we head to Upton Park.</p>
<p>Liverpool playing two games ahead of United are at 54 points and leading the the table. However that keeps us unaffected with our standings.Winning last six games in a row and scoring 14 points in our last 6 away games there&#8217;s no reason that we should drop points.Facing Chelsea and Liverpool this is more like a pie for United.</p>
<p>Rooney will be hopefully at bench.Fergie won&#8217;t be going any easy for dropping points here so you cannot see any suprises. He will stick with 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 for time being.Hammers are without their stars D.Aston and K.Dyer that reduced our pressure.</p>
<p>Match starts at 1600 GMT and i hope you are going to watch this game.</p>
<p>PS:- Our Duos,Alex Ferguson and N.Vidic bagged both Manager and Player of the month award.</p>
<p>Just two days back on 6th of Feb,United farewelled there great heroes who died in Munich crash.</p>

<p>The last time that we faced them in FA finals was back in 2005 at Trafford.Well the results were dissapointing from United&#8217;s side  but the match worth watching. These are  matches which dont set off till they completely finish those given 120 minutes plus the 5 penalties. Its like a never ending conflict.Believe me watching such matches at stadium is worth every penny.<span id="more-554"></span></p>
<p>This time it will be sightly more similar but not so exact. No likes of O&#8217;Herny or Van Nistelrooy but we surely have Fabregas and Ronaldo. We will still miss those Keano and Viera fights but hey we have Rooney and Eduardo who can. Both teams are right now in their peak time and it has been more fabulous games compared to last season. We usually dont expect high scores but goals will be similar on both ends.</p>
<p>The remaining fixtures tends to be the opposite of these. All Premier ship teams having those lollypop matches. Its also good that the remaining big guns are playing FA which makes us even in times at premier league.</p>
<p>Liverpool and Chelsea both playing their home matches and so they will be least bothered.Pompey is away at Preston while Middlesbrough visiting Sheffield.</p>
<p>(Feb 16- Feb 17)</p>
<p>Bristol Rovers v. Southampton<br />
Cardiff v. Wolves<br />

Liverpool v. Barnsley<br />
<strong>Manchester United v. Arsenal</strong><br />
Preston v. Portsmouth<br />
Coventry v. West Brom<br />
Chelsea v. Huddersfield</p>
<p>I hope this turns into another FA classic.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After taking Everton at home with a cheeky win Manchester United is travelling to stadium of Light for having second encounter with Sunderland of this season.</p>
<p>Both United and Sunderland having injury issues with an opposite standings in league.United running just a point under league leaders Arsenal while Keano&#8217;s Cats are rock bottom at 18th place.</p>
<p>Micheal Chopra(heel injury),Kieron Richardson(back),Nyron Nosworthy(hamstring) and Russell Anderson are out with their injuries.Liam Miller is suspended for three matches after showing disagreeable actions in match with reading.<span id="more-542"></span></p>
<p>Keane has missed his first team players this season with a lot of absence and this has caused him lot of points.A draw or an agreeable defeat would be expected at Stadium of Light.</p>
<p>However United are strong contender of this match.Ronaldo,Rooney and Tevez all are in blazing form.Rio and Hargreaves are still not sure for their appearance.Edvin Van De Sar is out with a groin injury is still out for three matches.</p>
<p>Park is going to make is first appearance since hitting is knee injury in March.Neville is still out of team.</p>
<p>An easy win is predicted by many and a heavy goal is going to separate both the sides.</p>
<p>Predicted score: 4-0(Ronaldo(+1),Rooney,Tevez,)</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It has been a quiet week, most players are on a well deserved break and the traditional transfer gossip kitchen has tried to keep awake United Fans, but sadly failed.<br />Today the fixtures for next season were announced and I am delighted to see that we can start with a rather slow program.</p>
<p><span id="more-389"></span>
<p>The season starts of at Old Trafford, against Reading, and our first highlight of the season will be on September 22th, when Jose Mourinho will realize at Old Trafford that the Blues still need to learn much. Weeks before he&#8217;ll already be complaining that the return game at Stamford Bridge is very late in the Season again, namely on April 22th.<br />When we play the return at Stamford Bridge doesn&#8217;t matter anyway, but I can understand that Jose is sad as April 22th will be too already for the Blues, because we&#8217;ll have decided the League the week before. Life is hard if you&#8217;re Jose Mourinho.</p>
<p>Last week&#8217;s transfer news about United was rather boring and mostly unbelievable.</p>
<p>Eidur Gudjohnson, as part of a swap deal with Gerard Pique? I think Gudjohnson is not flexible enough for our fast paced game and he seriously isn&#8217;t the lethal weapon Van The Man was. If we need a striker, we need a deadly striker. Gudjohnson surely is experienced but sadly not effective enough and we have enough players who can set up class actions. <br />A striker who comes to mind were Roy Makaay, even though he is already in his early 30s. He&#8217;s experienced on the highest level and strikes deadly when assisted correctly.<br />Our wordclass midfield can launch him and even in his age he can break out as fast as Wayne and Cristiano do. In the box Roy is as strong as Ruud, sadly he had no midfield behind him at Bayern Munich.</p>
<p>Saha and Smith are rumoured to consider their options and if I were them I&#8217;d also consider my options.</p>
<p>Rossi&#8217;s future is still uncertain, but I can&#8217;t believe that Sir Alex would let such a young talent go to another big club. Same for Gerard Pique.<br />Both are very talented and admirable young players, but right at the moment our squad is too young to rely on two more youngsters. I think both will spend one more season on loan abroad, to return to Old Trafford as experienced players, having played the best teams in Spain or Italy already.</p>
<p>Gabriel Heinze, who&#8217;s preparing for the Copa del America, is still being linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid, but I&#8217;d prefer him to stay at Old Trafford. He is the type of player we need in support of our offensive midfield. Chances he&#8217;d immediately get a fix spot at Barcelona are rather minimal <abbr title="In My Opinion">IMO</abbr>, and if, he&#8217;d play exactly at the spot where he could be useful for ManU : in between the defense and the midfield. Like Deschamps did during his career, like Makelele has done for Real Madrid (has anyone noticed Real hasn&#8217;t won anything anymore since Makelele left).<br />And since our team might be competitive in all four competitions, we surely need someone with Gaby&#8217;s experience and class.</p>
<p>Now I&#8217;ll stop before I am as boring as the news last week were. Hopefully the next days will be more and exciting and Kieran Richardson will do us proud and go all the way with the England U21 Team.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Perhaps now it can be seen as to why the <a href="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/">United Reds</a> have been branded one of the most talented and sophisticated lineups assembled to compete in the various European leagues. Most of the players have returned to their mother teams to get a crack at the Euro 2008 qualifiers and a lot of them have come from the <a href="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/">United Reds lineup</a>.</p>
<p><a><center><img src="http://delivery.viewimages.com/xv/73673182.jpg?v=1&#038;c=ViewImages&#038;k=2&#038;d=17A4AD9FDB9CF1932BBB80AB57C9760288FDEAFDFA97BE03B7503B2CC65EBB18" alt="Euro 2008 Qualifiers" /></center></a></p>
<p>Among the names to be heard include that of Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Alan Smith are among the top names being mentioned. A fifth player, Wayne Rooney was supposed to be included but is serving suspension. </p>
<p>Their next opponent is Brazil. While Brazil is not expected to be a pushover, the chemistry and alliance of these players who have been playing together under the <a href="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/">United Reds </a>is an advantage on its own. Once they take the field at Wembley Stadium, expect the games to rock along with the fans following them intently as the game kicks off. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been reportedly tapped by his country Norway to compete in the coming Euro 2008 qualifiers this coming June. Solskjaer compiled a total of 11 goals, serving notice why he is among the best strikers of the <a href="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/">United Reds</a> in the game and an asset that can truly help in Norway’s cause. </p>
<p><a><center><img src="http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2006/10/solskjaerR011006_228x316.jpg" alt="Gunnar Solskjaer" /></center></a></p>
<p>This time around, Solskjaer will make sure he does not miss the bus to Norway for the qualifiers. He had previously missed the other tournaments due to various injuries that had made him unable to compete and maintain his effectiveness. But at the way things look at the moment, everything seems to be a go and Solskjaer seems hell bent to make up for the times he was unable to contribute to his country’s cause. </p>
<p>With his inclusion in the Norway lineup, this is expected to boost the moral of the team. He is known to average at least 1 goal in his three <a href="http://www.manchesterunited-blog.com/">international appearances</a>. </p>
