In the same way that Chelsea experienced the same ovation for their brave effort in 2005, the same was now in turn given to the United Reds in their 0-0 standoff with Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge Pitch. It is a fact that the Reds are ailing and paying tribute to the heroic efforts by the left players emphasizing on team play lead by Wes Brown, there is nothing better than to receive due recognition for the efforts of the remaining players of the powerhouse club.

Defense was the name of the game between the match of the Reds and Chelsea and this was typified as both failed to score a goal for the tight defense both teams applied. Chelsea had a change to score a goal in the end game, but thanks to the combined efforts of the Reds’ players, they were able to hold off any offensive from Chelsea.

“It was a difficult game for us,” he added. “Both sides didn’t play their strongest teams, but we have come out with a respectable draw.

“It was [a strange game]. There was a few lads in from the reserves and some players played out of position. We’ve not played together all season, so to come to Chelsea we had to play well. I thought we relly stuck together.

“Chelsea put a lot of pressure on us towards the end of the game. It looked like they might nick a goal at the end, but we managed to hold on and kept on defending.” –Wes Brown: Wes praises Blues gesture

After a forgetful loss to AC Milan, the Reds are back in harness with a much needed victory over the Manchester City. The United Reds defeated the Manchester City 1-0 courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty goal.

It was a path towards the right direction as the painful loss had been a bitter pill to swallow for the powerhouse United Reds ball club. But in the same way that they have rebounded from various setbacks throughout, it was a good statement to prove that the Reds do have what it takes to recover lost ground especially in the ongoing Premiereship title.

Actually, the loss to AC Milan seemed to have awoken a sleeping giant beset by various issues and injuries and Manchester City was unfortunately in the way of the wrath of the Reds. Through the efforts of Cristiano Ronaldo and Michael Carrick, the hard-earned victory is something to put them back on the right track and recover whatever loss they had encountered beforehand.

Many people know the impossible can happen, but even for this famous and decorated ball club, something has to give some time. Already beset with injuries to key players, the United Reds fell short of their goal as they bowed to the superior AC Milan 3-0 in the San Siro.

There was nothing really lost but pride since ordinarily, playing beyond the odds and reaching this stage of the tournament despite lack of player arsenal has been an overachievement in itself. As Sir Alex Ferguson put it:

“We gave away goals very cheaply and at this level you can’t do that. Credit to Milan though, they pressed us really well and were very well prepared. They were certainly sharper and quicker to the ball. They’ve been good winners.”

Truly, United may have played poorly, but credit this to fatigue and lack of player experience in tow. Whatever the excuse may be, it all stands that the United Reds have once again why they are among the elite ball clubs to grace the sport.

Time and again it has been said that the key to a good offense is good defense. This is becoming a household adage in any game and the United Reds had to find it out the hard way. Their poor performance in protecting the ball was a key factor in their loss to AC Milan 5-3 at the Champions League semi-finals second leg.

Such sentiments were voiced out by Reds winger Ryan Giggs as the team suffered the heartbreaking setback all due to its making. The team had all the chances and could have even pulled it off if they had pulled their act together. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. The Reds offensive sock was still around, but without proper defense on the other end, all of the efforts are negated and led to the painful setback.

“In both legs, we’ve let bad goals in and there’s no defending that,” he admitted. “We attack as a team and we defend as a team and we didn’t defend as well as we have this season against Milan.” – Ryan Giggs, Poor possession costly.

The current psychologically enhanced war between Cristiano Ronaldo and Chelsea Manager Jose Mourino has been heating up but United Red’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been making all efforts to put an end to the conflict, drawing a line to end all the fire that is slowly razing.

Fergusson calls it a tactic to break the streak and momentum that Ronaldo has been enjoying as of late. The below the belt remarks over media and the Chelsea manager has questioned the level of education and upbringing that the Reds star has.

But one bright note as far as Ronaldo is concerned is his control of not being drawn into the low morale remarks that is surely something no ordinary person would take sitting down. His manner of handling the situation is truly commendable and only shows his manner and level of principles in avoiding to be drawn in such a low blow exchange in the hot wind up of the Champion’s League.

Already plagued with injuries and a rough and tumble season, no other than the left soldiers of the United Reds in the person of Michael Carrick believes that United can get the job done when they meet AC Milan for a place in the Champions League Finals.

The season has not been a bright one for the United Reds and they have had to maximize their roster sans big names that have fallen to injuries. Yet despite these circumstances, United finds itself in a similar situation of proving why it has been among the favorites in this line of sport.

Reaching this far using their current lineup is no easy task and the only way to go is up. Losing one game does not make a difference but from all indications and with the common goal of the remaining Reds is concerned, there is so much to achieve and nothing to lose but prestige.

Cristiano Ronaldo was already making waves in the early goings and perhaps this is one reason why this hotshot has now added another feather in his cap when he was awarded the PFA Fan’s Player of the Year award.

Ronaldo is best known for his exciting style of play, something that has made the 22 year old winger a player to watch out for. He has gained the respect of his teammates and the fans, all leading up to this award that is due for the potential player of the ages.

Even in the eyes of abuse and roughed up plays at the World Cup, Ronaldo still managed to maintain his composure and gave the fans something to watch. With his determination and style of play, he is obviously the hands down choice for the award and even PFA Chief Executive Gordon Taylor made this known:

“He is the most exciting player in the country at the moment. The quickness of his feet and the skills he possesses make you think, at times, that he’s from another planet.

“This season was a big test for him, both of his temperament and his ability to rise above the abuse he received after the incident with Wayne Rooney at the World Cup, and he has passed with flying colours in every department.” – PFA Chief Executive Gordon Taylor

The Manchester United foundation has been known to dedicate part of its time into providing helpful causes as their partner for a time. Known to be more of the competitive nature of engaging in the world of football, this is the side event that most people would rarely hear about, but the time to know about it is now.

It is never easy to choose the foundation to lend a helping hand. To date, there are a lot of charitable institutions that would need help and the Manchester United Foundation cannot accommodate all of them. The choices will be hard to make but it is during this time that assistance in whittling down the list to the deserving ones is a hard alternative, considering that the foundation would help all of them, if they could.

Hence, the Manchester United foundation has sought the help of its fans to pick out the list of targeted charitable causes that they feel should be assisted by the foundation. It is not an easy task but the best way is to solicit the votes from the fans and followers so that the deserving charity partner will be given the proper assistance for the next three years.

Soliciting raw talent from the available resources during the break is perhaps the goal of every organization now that the summer break has set in. And no other than the big bosses of the United Reds have been preparing for it. With these developments, Sir Alex Fergusson has nothing but good words for the efforts being exerted by the heads led by David Gill.

Gill disclosed that the Glazer family will be putting up funds for future signings of players since it has been evident that the Reds have been suffering from a spate of injuries as well as players transferring and leaving.

Among the eyed players are Owen Hargreaves and hopefully it may become a wish come true. Overall, the Reds are not planning to make drastic changes and are geared more on enhancing their current line-up with one or two quality players to bolster their formidable line-up and maintain their class and position.

The charity match between the United Reds and Marcelo Lippi’s Europe IX drew praises from all throughout, led by Sir Alex Fergusson calling it a “fantastic success”. The match was held in celebration of the 50th year of United in European competition. United went up against a selection of the finest players in the game today which was won by United 4-3 thanks to the efforts of Wes Brown and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The match drew praises as well from former Italy World Cup winning coach Lippi, who stated that the match was fitting to celebrate 50 years of joint celebration since the Treaty of Rome.

There was no pressure at all for everyone on hand as the atmosphere was totally relaxing. Fans, both young and old got treated to a classic match of football on a different level. Fans and players on hand played their part in making the event memorable and certainly it would be one that would be best remembered for years to come.
