This is almost like some super hero returns.Gary is finally back. After a long 10 month pause to his flying career,Gary made his appearance in a reserves match against Liverpool.Though we lost the match by 2 goals,we have managed to get our hero back.He had full 60 minutes played without any problem and after that he was substituted.

Gary has been out since last May and has been suffering from multiple injuries.United though, has a set team in defense its hard time now for Gary to return into his place.Danny Simpson and Brown both have improved a lot after Gary absense.I recommend Gary to still take rest for another 2-3 weeks and return back with bang like or Scholesy did.I still suggest that right the team is perfectly biased and any changes in squad can unbalance things. For example,if Gary returns back, he wont be that fit or equally fit compared to Brown. So he might reduce the attack speed at flanks.

Saha has also returned back into first team and now we hardly have any injured in beds.So its all know working on our sides.

Lets see how will Fergie figures and takes Gary.

Now the season really has started and the games follow up each other in a rather high pace, it’s time to start a series reviewing our senior squad members and their performances so far. Today, we kick off with our goal keeper Edwin van der Sar, the Dutch almost 6’6″ tall international, who has won everything there is to win on club level.

Van der Sar has played all the games so far, 7 in the Premiership and the UCL game in Lisbon. VDS had come in in the line of fire after some errors at the end of last season. The tall Dutch international has this year been a role player and a rock in our system.
Although rarely tested during the Community Shield against Chelsea, VDS was our hero when he won the trophy for us by stopping 3 penalties.
VDS, backed by an awesome defense so far, has mostly only been tested by long range shots and always stood solid. EVDS made the difference in last week’s UCL game with two brilliant world class saves.

EVDS has hardly ever been caught on an error in this season so far, although one could say he might have done more with Citeh’s goal, but deflected shots always are hard for a keeper. As known, VDS has ruled on both long distance shots and in the air and kept 5 consecutive clean sheets.

The value of VDS for the team can’t be better worded than Giggs did it some days ago

He has a calming effect on the whole team because he doesn’t make that many mistakes. He has been doing it for so long now, you take it for granted

Today was a rather bitter day for <strike>our junior squad</strike> ManU. We were eliminated mercilessly by Coventry in the Carling Cup. Sadly I didn’t have the opportunity to view the game and can’t say much about the game.

SAF’s bet to start with no senior player has proven to be an expensive one. The quadruple won’t be for this year. Period.

Our starting eleven: Kuszczak, O’Shea, Bardsley, Pique, Simpson, Evans, Eagles, Martin Dong, Nani and Anderson. At half time Brown and Campbell replaced respectively Bardsley and Martin. 10 Minutes later Carrick came replaced Evans.

Coventry won 0 – 2, Mifsud scored both goals.

Dutch, and Chelsea, scout Piet De Visser said in an interview with the Dutch TV Channel Tien TV, that United paid too much for Nani.

He is a talent, but if you look at the European Championship in Portugal and the current tournament in the Netherlands – Nani has not shown any progress.

Therefore I think Manchester United have paid too much money for a player who has talent, but has not developed since last year.

But what De Visser seems to forget is that there’s a huge difference between Chelsea and ManU. Chelsea buys stars and they perform or don’t perform. No matter if they are over paid or not. Look at the best performing players at Chelsea : except for Lamps and Terry, they all have been very expensive players, in the range of 20million and above.
Others are highly under performing. Just to mention some, SWP, Robben, Ballack, Sheva. Chelsea doesn’t grow players. They perform or they don’t.

But here at ManU, we buy talents and then Sir Alex and Queiroz start working them. Turn them in to world class players. We know how to get the best out of players. Examples are numerous.

Becks.
Rio has grown into a world class player.
Rooney, who gets better every season. And always learns to do more, more than just score. He’ll become deadly in the box, but most of all he’s growing in to the role of a player who can cover the whole pitch wisely. Not like in his first 2 years at Old Trafford when he ran over the whole ground and one wondered why he was at that spot now.
Cristiano. Cristiano was a talent. Nothing more. An expensive talent. Fergie made one of the world’s best players out of him.
Ruud was a talent. He became world’s deadliest striker at Old Trafford. Performing well in The Netherlands doesn’t make you a worldwide fear, just look at Kezman’s performance at Chelsea.
Giggs was a talent.
Both Neville brothers were.
No one knew who Vidic was, today he’s among the world’s defensive elite, together with Rio and Neville.

I could go on for hours with more examples. Fact is, we buy young talents and grow them, turn them in to world’s elite. And then one day, they move on. That’s when Roman, Jose and Chelsea come in play : they want to buy the best players. We make them. Young talents at Chelsea fail.
I’m sure Robben would perform a lot better if he were managed by Fergie. ;-)

An injury time winning goal was all that was needed and Wayne Rooney became the unlikely savior, helping the United Reds buck a 2-1 lead during halftime and escape with a 3-2 victory over AC Milan at Old Trafford in the semi-finals first leg.

It was poetry in motion for Rooney as he executed a goal on a perfect assist coming from Paul Scholes. The hard earned win was evident as emphatically stated by Rooney after the game. They now carry the momentum going into the second leg next Wednesday in the Champions League decider in San Siro.

“It’s a great feeling,” he told ITV Sport. “It was a difficult match but when it got late we kept going. We knew the victory would make it a little bit easier for the away leg. And to get a goal in the last minute is a great feeling.

“It was fantastic. At 2-1 behind at half-time against a very good Milan team, we knew it would be difficult to get the win. The manager told us too keep pushing, keep going and we’ll get the goals, and we did.” –Rooney relieved by winner

If there is one thing that has been bothering Sir Alex Fergusson these days, it is that of injury to key players at a stage where a complete roster is essential. The Reds are now at the semi-finals of the FA cup but with the plague of injuries to key players such as Louis Saha and John O’Shea who are down with separate injuries.

Saha is recuperating from a hamstring strain injury and may be a doubtful starter on their Tuesday game against Sheffield United at Old Trafford. O’Shea on the other hand suffered a calf injury in their last game against Roma.

“John didn’t train on Friday,” confirmed Sir Alex Ferguson at his pre-match press conference. “But hopefully he will be OK for Saturday. Patrice Evra came in at right-back on Tuesday and did very well.”

If it is any consolation, Paul Shoes will be back from serving a suspension and will be able to play. But Fergusson is weary that at this stage of the tournament, adjustments to the winning ways of the Reds may prove to be costly for where they have accomplished by this time.

“My other decision is that Paul Scholes is back from suspension. Changing a winning team is very difficult after the way they performed against Roma. But Paul’s experience could be important in a semi-final.”

Another doubtful player is that of Gary Neville who will still be out for another week. While he was reportedly going to be ready by the time they face Sheffield, Fergusson doubts the healing time and would rather not risk aggravating injuries of his player’s careers. Call it a spade of bad luck!

Being the best in the game will have its advantages and such was the contract offered to Cristiano Ronaldo. No details were disclosed yet but the contract states that Ronaldo will be donning the United uniform until 2012.

No other than Ryan Giggs was elated over the deal, stating that United made a good move in securing the services of the Portugese player who is destined for greatness.

“He’s been on fire this season, his form has been unbelievable. For someone in his position and of his age to be as consistent as he has been is remarkable.”

“There is no-one who can rival him as the best in the world at the moment,” he added. “He’s improved as a player, but he’s continuing to improve which is the scary thing. Whatever challenges he faces, it doesn’t bother him or faze him.

“The thing he needs to do now is to be consistent for the next ten years. If he does that he’ll rightly be up there with the greats.” – Giggs delight at Ronny deal.

Based on winning tradition and how United rewards deserving players, Cristiano Ronaldo is certainly a player on the rise that will be among the greats one day. Giggs has challenged Ronaldo to maintain his rise towards stardom and from all indications, it doesn’t seem to be a hard task for the Portugese player.

Looks like United will continue to rise on the top with its roster of talented players. The best part of it is that the players are doing it wholeheartedly and easily.

Despite rumors of an impending big deal that would bring him to United or Tottenham, Southampton’s Gareth Bale is simply focusing on the task at hand and this is doing the thing he loves the most, playing football.

With an estimated value of £10 million offers, Bale has remained unfazed and chose to concentrate on continuously playing his love for the sport at St. Mary’s. There is no pressure whatsoever from this 17 year old sensation, who is busy preparing for Wales’ Euro 2008 qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and San Marino.

Taking the right approach, nothing would be definite and all are speculations for now taking the load of the pressure from such transactions if they should push through. With this kind of attitude, it is not surprising why this 17 year old star is a prized player that is dangling much money from clubs who wish to have him under their wing.
