For Sir Alex Ferguson, obtaining the Champions League Cup is the next stop for the United Reds. While they fell short due to injuries to a couple of their players, it is obvious that the team is headed in that direction and only time will tell. After talks of impending player transfers coming their way and leaving enough time for the healing period to its key players, it will be all systems go in the coming months as the United Reds will be once again in harness.

Â
The Reds have proven to be a team to reckon with despite the various obstacles that the team has faced. Getting that far with what they have is an accomplishment that Ferguson has readily appreciated and lauded. One can just think of what would become of the Reds team once all players are up and about. A scary thought for their opponents and a wondrous one for Ferguson and company.

After some months of negotiation, former Bayern Munich Midfielder has been reported to finally realize his dream of being a United Red. Owen Hargreaves, the 26 year old midfielder is set to join the roster after Club President Beckenbauer confirmed that their prized midfielder had asked out to join the Reds club. No details were disclosed regarding other reasons but all point towards a more promising future as well as financial benefits among the primary reasons of Hargreaves’ departure.

With the done deal, Hargreaves is expected to sign a 4 year deal with the newly crowned champions and further bolstering the multi-talented lineup of the United Reds.
It has been no secret that Hargreaves has been aching to join the United Reds but his mother team has been against the idea for the sake of the Bayern Munich ball club competency in the major tournaments. But all that has changed and further updates will sure to come in the coming days.

The elements are there and with their accomplishment detailed right before them, everything seems to be in place for the current stars of the United Reds team towards impending superstardom. However, it takes more than just one championship to categorize them in the legendary status that they are aiming for. Winning tradition is the key and for Dutch Stopper Edwin van der Sar, this is achievable.

“You do not become a legend overnight – you have to win things over a long period,” insists van der Sar. “The players have shown their ability this season. Every game has been important for us and we’ve shown we have been up for every one.
“Every player selected for Saturday or Tuesday or Wednesday has had to perform and we have not had to carry any one.
“Chelsea were so well ahead in the previous seasons. But this season, we have been playing well enough to cope with anything that has been put in our way.
“The squad is well positioned to achieve something special,” adds the 36-year-old. “It takes a long time to work towards something like this but now the team must go on.
“It is not just about winning something once but two or three times and that is the challenge.” – Starlets can become legends
Hence to sum it all up, it is for the current roster of the United Reds to gain or lose. Everything is under their hands.

Already plagued with injuries and a rough and tumble season, no other than the left soldiers of the United Reds in the person of Michael Carrick believes that United can get the job done when they meet AC Milan for a place in the Champions League Finals.
The season has not been a bright one for the United Reds and they have had to maximize their roster sans big names that have fallen to injuries. Yet despite these circumstances, United finds itself in a similar situation of proving why it has been among the favorites in this line of sport.
Reaching this far using their current lineup is no easy task and the only way to go is up. Losing one game does not make a difference but from all indications and with the common goal of the remaining Reds is concerned, there is so much to achieve and nothing to lose but prestige.

So the injury bug has been continuously biting the cause of the Reds but this has not stopped them from aiming high and taking on all the challenges that are coming their way. No other than Sir Alex Fergusson is feeling the pressure but rather than wilting under it, it has become very much a mission to simply regain the Premiership title. But from all angles, it looks like the United Reds are playing like wounded tigers and are aiming for something more.
With limits in players, talent and time, chances are most teams caught under the same predicament will thrive to function with all cylinders pumping. Having a slim margin of only 3 points separating them and Chelsea, one slight error will prove to be costly. This is something that the Reds are aware of and such has become their guide to try to strive for maximum perfection in playing all their remaining games.
Unless something untoward would happen or perhaps a stroke of bad luck, then from all indications, the Reds can accomplish a feat that would be worthy if the team were indeed complete. Now that would be something for the record books.

Soliciting raw talent from the available resources during the break is perhaps the goal of every organization now that the summer break has set in. And no other than the big bosses of the United Reds have been preparing for it. With these developments, Sir Alex Fergusson has nothing but good words for the efforts being exerted by the heads led by David Gill.

Gill disclosed that the Glazer family will be putting up funds for future signings of players since it has been evident that the Reds have been suffering from a spate of injuries as well as players transferring and leaving.
Among the eyed players are Owen Hargreaves and hopefully it may become a wish come true. Overall, the Reds are not planning to make drastic changes and are geared more on enhancing their current line-up with one or two quality players to bolster their formidable line-up and maintain their class and position.

If there is one thing that has been bothering Sir Alex Fergusson these days, it is that of injury to key players at a stage where a complete roster is essential. The Reds are now at the semi-finals of the FA cup but with the plague of injuries to key players such as Louis Saha and John O’Shea who are down with separate injuries.

Saha is recuperating from a hamstring strain injury and may be a doubtful starter on their Tuesday game against Sheffield United at Old Trafford. O’Shea on the other hand suffered a calf injury in their last game against Roma.

“John didn’t train on Friday,” confirmed Sir Alex Ferguson at his pre-match press conference. “But hopefully he will be OK for Saturday. Patrice Evra came in at right-back on Tuesday and did very well.”
If it is any consolation, Paul Shoes will be back from serving a suspension and will be able to play. But Fergusson is weary that at this stage of the tournament, adjustments to the winning ways of the Reds may prove to be costly for where they have accomplished by this time.
“My other decision is that Paul Scholes is back from suspension. Changing a winning team is very difficult after the way they performed against Roma. But Paul’s experience could be important in a semi-final.”
Another doubtful player is that of Gary Neville who will still be out for another week. While he was reportedly going to be ready by the time they face Sheffield, Fergusson doubts the healing time and would rather not risk aggravating injuries of his player’s careers. Call it a spade of bad luck!

Just when everyone was ignoring the penalizations being given by the NBA on players lambasting the referees, the UEFA Champions League now has an issue of its own featuring Sir Alex Fergusson on some questionable officiating. Although nothing is certain, it is a given that Sir Alex Fergusson was indeed disappointed with the officiating and his verbal attacks against German referee Fandel. United eventually lost the match in Rome.
Sir Fergusson issued a statement wherein United was at a loss 12 to 10, obviously referring to the referees of the difference. Included in the possible disciplinary actions is that of defender Rio Ferdinand who branded the referee as “laughable, arrogant and ignorant”.
While the UEFA committee is still studying and gathering evidence and statements surrounding this issue, there will be penalties that will be handed in the coming days. Again, if Sir Fergusson were to speak, they are at a disadvantage. But then again, that is a different battle off the field.

Despite a badly depleted lineup, Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that his team can make it beyond the quarterfinals. United reached the quarterfinals by getting past Lille 2-0. This will be the first time that the team have reached the quarterfinals in four years and optimism is written all over the face of the United Reds boss.

Add to this that the team wasn’t yet even in top form against Lille, and Ferguson knows all to well that with a fit team, they can make it all the way to the final. Thriving on their defensive solidarity, United can actually achieve the feat against other teams such as AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, PSV Eindhoven, Valencia and Roma.
The team has the talent to pull it off as can be seen and emphasized by most quarters. Focus and getting to top form will be the key towards attaining the goal and with Sir Alex, such a possibility can become reality.

Here is old Captain Marvel looking ahead to United’s crucial game on Saturday against Liverpool-:
As a player you always looked forward to games between Manchester United and Liverpool because the two teams were also pushing for the title or cup competitions.
There is also a great rivalry between the clubs and you were playing against some of the best players in the league.
They were nearly always important games and that’s exactly the situation with the game on Saturday.
I believe that if Manchester United beat Liverpool that they will win the title.
Realistically, the gap over Chelsea will be 12 points but it will be more like 13 because of United’s superior goal difference.
And, I don’t think they will lose that type of lead with only single figure games to go.
If they lose, Chelsea will still be in there with a shout but because of the advantage United have they will still be favourites.
A great memory from Anfield is when we were getting beat 3-1 and were down to 10 men – We came back to draw 3-3
Form goes out the window in this fixture. It’s who turns up on the day. Both are playing well and have something to aim for – Man Utd the title and Liverpool want to secure a Champions League place.
A match that sticks out for me as a great memory from Anfield is when we were getting beat 3-1 and were down to 10 men.
We came back to draw 3-3 and even then Gordon Strachan had a great chance to win the game for us.
The rivalry surrounding the fixture comes from both teams being successful and close to each other geographically plus they have always had great players.
You don’t really come across the Liverpool fans because you are in a hotel over Manchester way and you drive to Liverpool on the day of the game.
The only time you are exposed to Liverpool fans is when you get off the coach and going into the stadium. Everywhere you go you have that sort of rivalry and the home fans support their team.
The Manchester United players are used to that and I don’t think that it will bother them.
It’s a close one to call and could go either way.
