Tomorrow we play a lunch time game against Wigan Athletic FC. There’s not much to say about this early game actually.
Wigan only have 8 points so far and have scored 17 consecutive defeats against ManU. ManUtd has scored 7 consecutive clean sheet victories.
Everton FC 0 – 1 Manchester United
Another win. And that’s about everything positive that can be said about today’s game to be honest.
Obviously the 2 week long international break has taken the harmony out of our quick passing game and we surely will have to gear up some if we want to start the Champions League with a positive result.
Again, our defense stood solid, really solid, with Nemanja Vidic, who scored the winning goal in the 84th minute as best performer for ManU today.
Like in almost every other game, again we had several (read: a few) outstanding chances, the best one for Scholes, after a brilliant one-two with Tevez, but Scholes didn’t have the needed killer-instinct today and his volley went over. Tevez himself also had 2 chances, both wide-range shots, but the first time Wessels stood in the way, the second shot went narrowly over.
Prem 2007-2008: Everton – ManUtd Preview
Tomorrow we travel to one of our favourite grounds, for another Merseyside-Manchester game at Goodison park.
Good news, both R’s are back. Ronaldo and Rooney.
Ronnie scored last Saturday for Portugal, Rooney will be in the squad but it is unlikely that he’ll start the game.
Giggs is also fit again, but the injury saga never seems to end this year for Fergie. Newly injured are Fletcher, who is sidelined for 6 weeks after a tackle from Patrick Vieira during the France – Scotland international on Wednesday, and O’Shea, who received a knock on his knee during the Republic of Ireland – Czech Republic international. O’Shea also is sidelined for several weeks.
Owen Hargreaves, who is recovering from a groin injury, will probably also be rested and return on Wednesday against Sporting Lisbon for the Champions League.
Everton have known a good start of the season this year and are at the top of the table, together with Loserpool and Arsenal, but they haven’t faced any of last year’s Top 4 teams and we will be their first test of the season tomorrow at noon. With Arsenal traveling to White Heart Lane and Liverpool traveling to Portsmouth, it looks that there could be some changes at the top of the table tomorrow and due to the early start, we have the chance to lead the table for the first time of the season.
Prediction: I am loyal and will stick to my game prediction for any game so far this year and say 0-3.
ManU 1 – 0 Sunderland : Analysis
First I want to apologize for the missing live report of the game against Sunderland and lack of analysis yesterday, but I have been the victim of no life an internet interruption since Saturday evening, right at the start of the game.
The home game against Sunderland certainly wasn’t our best game at OT, but there were positive things about it. Obviously most positive were the three points we took home and Saha’s return, but also the presence of Anderson, who made his home debut and Hargreaves who once more was a solid rock in the midfield.
Prem 2007-2008: ManUtd – Sunderland
Tomorrow we meet the Black Cats. A return of the star Roy Keane to OT.
A preview of the game is not an easy thing. Everyone at ManU is fit. Even Saha. Nothing new compared to last week’s game against Spus, except that Saha REALLY is expected to get some minutes on the pitch.
Unless of course suddenly his knees start shivering again and his back returns to the regular spot… on the table at the doctor’s.
But more important tomorrow is the return of Roy Keane to OT. I don’t really know what to say about this… Roy obviously will get his deserved standing ovation when coming on to the pitch… but then he’ll get a Royal beating.
Sorry Keano, but we needed Nani’s goal and now we’re on fire. Too bad, but you’ve gotten used to take goals. 7 In 3 games, 12 in 4 ganes… where’s th difference?
Obviously there will live reporting again. Tune in again tomorrow at 5.15PM GMT.
On another note, I am considering reporting the Chelsea live with voice. Let me know if there’s interest.
