Man Utd 2 Portsmouth 0
Manchester United continued to show its impressive dominance this season by posting a 3 0 drubbing of Portsmouth in this weeks game.
The astounding team performance served as a fitting gift to Sir Alex Ferguson as he is currently celebrating is 20 years as the acknowledged leader and grand old man of the Old Trafford club.
The Manchester United team displayed the same kind of impeccable level of play they unleashed on Bolton during the opening stages of the season and Portsmouth was just caught in the middle of dizzying Red storm. Most telling was the level of performance that the Red Devils played during the first half, which many say was at a phenomenal level.
It was Wayne Rooney and Luis Saha that started the proverbial ball rolling as they were part of the initial salvo that happened a mere two minutes into the game.
Gary Nevilles throw on the right freed up Rooney into the Pompey box but was brought down by Dejan Stefanovic with some help from Mathew Taylor. Saha took the penalty shot and did not miss that opportunity for an easy goal that pushed ManUtd 1 0.
After just nine minutes any hopes of Portsmouth to tie was dashed when Cristiano Ronaldo unleashed a fierce free kick that shot through the top left corner of the net.
The Red Devils continued their relentless assault and, if not for Portsmouth goalkeeper David James, the Reds could have had a cricket score even before the break.
The third Manchester United goal came in at the 66th minute with a ten yard header that came from Nemanja Vidic.

Gary Neville– He may not have scored any of the three goals, but Neville was hugely instrumental in two of those three goals. Great passing can do you no wrong.
