Korea pocketed 1 point against top-seeded France as Manchester United star Ji-Sung Park dramatically scored in 81 min in World Cup 1st Round in Leipzig, Germany, 18. June.
Park, who scored 2 consecutive games against France and socred 2 goals the 2002 World Cup score against Portugal said to the Korean Press-:
“I don’t think I really did well today. But I’m satisfied with the result since this means we now have a good position to reach the second round.”
Park was named Man of the Match.
Coach Advocaat said “I’m very proud of my team. They did very well against a strong opponent. It was lucky for us not to concede more than one goal in the first half.“
After Henry had opened the scoring for France, South Korea battled back. Barthez had been inactive for much of the match but in the 81st minute when he was called on to be decisive he flapped in a desperately indecisive fashion.
Seol Ki-Hyeon’s deep cross from the right was headed back by Cho Jae-Jin and Park scooped the ball over Barthez and William Gallas.
