Another day, another international rising superstar rumour. This time the rumour kitchen brings us the news of a tabbed offer for the services of Sergio Aguero. SAF is said to have offered £18m PLUS Berbatov to secure the Spanish 21 year old international, who is understood to have a £50m buy-out clause. So far none of these Spanish rumours have been confirmed and to me it seems very doubtful that SAF would sacrifice the mainly by himself highly hyped Bulgarian international.
So far Atletico Madrid have always maintained that Aguero not for sale is so it seems unlikely that a cash plus player deal could be sufficient, especially considered the difference in age between Aguero and Berbatov.
On that note though, I do think that Berba would be a lot more efficient in the Primera Division than he has been for us so far. The more open game in Spain definitely suits his game better than pushing the opponent against the wall and hope to find that small hole and score like we love to do at ManUtd.
Do we want Aguero? Heck yes! He would give every defense a run for their money and soon EPL fans would have forgotten about freckle boy Torres! I would love to see Sergio Aguero be part of our squad but I don’t see it happen.

Rumours are about that SAF might make a swoop for the 27 year old Swedish star. More than once over the last weeks it has been rumoured that Mourinho/Inter Milan would allow the 2008-2009 topscorer of the Serie A to leave for the correct amount. Speculation is that SAF is ready to offer £30m for Zlatan Ibrahimović.
Ibrahimović club track record
1999 – 2001: Malmö – 40 appearances – 16 goals (40% strike rate)
2001 – 2004: Ajax – 74 appearances – 35 goals (47% strike rate)
2004 – 2006: Juventus – 70 appearances – 23 goals (33% strike rate)
2006 – present: Internazionale – 88 appearances – 57 goals (65% strike rate)
Total: 272 appearances – 131 goals (48% strike rate)
Those are very impressive stats, better than Michael Owen’s track record. Zlatan won the Capocannoniere, Italian domestic top scorer title, in 2009 with 25 goals.
Another thing not to forget about the Swede is that he is 6’31⁄2″ tall.
What do you think guys?
After the jump Zlatan’s amazing “Goal of the Year 2008″ against Bologna FC.

Sean McGinty, a 15 year old talent has completed his dream move from Charlton to Manchester United. After 3 years at Charlton he had played for their Under 18 and Reserves squads already.
Gabriel Obertan also completed his move to ManUtd and signed a 4 your contract with the Red Devils. Obertan will miss the pre-season and tour to Asia due to an injury.
So far SAF has signed three players: a 23 year Ecuadorian international, a French Under 21 international and an English 15 year old talent. Who’s next? Huntelaar for £20m?

Gabriel Obertan, who we reported about yesterday, is said to have a medical at OT. The fee is reported to be around £3m. I bet Wenger must be upset now SAF pulls ‘a Wenger’ and signs an obscure, not too known, French talent for a rather low price.

For a long time we have been rumoured to be interested in Miguel Veloso, a 23 year old Portuguese defensive midfielder. Veloso and his club Sporting always maintained that wanted to stay in Lisbon but things have gotten quiet around him.
Veloso was rumoured to be a +£20m target for us.
Anderson hasn’t been too terrific last season, potential is there but often his performance was below par and the question is if Owen Hargreaves will return and reach his peak again. Veloso would be a great reinforcement for the midfield and take work load away from Michael Carrick. And we have seen in the past that ManUtd CAN play with two defensive midfielders. Anderson and Hargreaves have regularly played together and immobilized the Liverpool and Arsenal midfield. Do we need Veloso? Has it become quiet around him because SAF is masterminding another coup? According to the media our team will be extended with the French 20 years old Gabriel Obertan. My first reaction was: Gabriel who and I bet we all think that when hearing the name???
The guy has been a member of Bordeaux since 2006 and has played 54 games for the Girondins, while scoring 3 times. In 2009 former ManUtd player Laurent Blanc, now Manager over at Bordeaux, decided to loan him out to Lorient, French Ligue 1 team and there he has played 8 games and scored 1.
Obertan is said to be a winger who can also play as striker or in the midfield. He is rumoured to have attracted the attention of Arsenal and Inter as well. I think that Jean-Louis Triaud , President of Bordeaux, had translation problems when he declared that we were on the verge of signing Obertan and actually meant the other Manchester.
UPDATE: Obertan said to have medical at ManUtd.

According to media reports Real Madrid might sell several of it’s Dutch stars after President Perez claimed that the Spanish squad needs has become to large and needs to be trimmed down. The cull could be as big as up to 10 players and Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Royston Drenthe and Klaas Jan Huntelaar are all tipped to depart the Spanish capital.
Should we be interested in any of these players, can they improve our squad?

It would be easy now to start ranting about whom we just signed, the guy who spent eight years at Anfield Road. A player prone to injury and do we need another glass house, especially named ‘Owen’, but after yesterday’s capture of Michael Owen, it would be petty to react that way and I think it’s better to have a look at what the England International can bring us and could add to our squad.
The 89 times capped international has a rather impressive fact file and if he can stay injury free, he certainly could be a major boost to our offense.
Stats on club level
1996-2004: Liverpool FC – 216 appearances – 118 Goals (55% strike rate)
2004-2005: Real Madrid FC – 35 appearances – 13 goals (37% strike rate)
2005-2009: Newcastle United FC – 71 appearances – 26 goals (37% strike rate)
Total: 322 appearances – 157 goals (49% strike rate)

It didn’t take long to finalize the capture of the 23 year old Antonio Valencia. The Ecuadorian has signed at Old Trafford. No transfer fee has been disclosed, but Wigan is said to have captured £18m for the international who pledge his trade two years in the shadow of the Theatre of Dreams.
There is no doubt that Valencia will fit our game the only question is will he be a fixture in the starting 11 from Day 1. He is raving to play in the squad though:

I hope you still remember me because with the start of a new season nearing you will read more from me here again.
Manchester United revealed the new kit for the 2009-2010 season today.

For a second year in a row the kit is rather nostalgic. ManUtd is full of history and our history shall never be forgotten at Old Trafford. Nevertheless I can not say I am entirely convinced by this outfit yet, certainly the goalie kit will take some to get used to even if I find the white kit a lot more stylish than the field player kit.
